After a few attempts, we realized writing Our Story was harder than we expected—most of what we truly want to say will come out in our vows anyway. Instead of continuing to struggle, we asked our dear friend, Dana Horning, to write Our Story for us, since she was there to witness it all from the start.

Erin and Elissa met at work; Erin was new to the team and set up a meeting to discuss her new role. I glanced over at Elissa, and I could see she was locked in already. The meeting ended and as a group, we walked back to our office. Elissa and Erin hung back- I could hear Erin laughing at random words like“Pazuzu” and other dazzling topics Elissa was using to impress Erin and make her laugh. Elissa was locking in even more. I think it was that day, or maybe the next, that Elissa started making Erin art out of items she found around the office, coming up with any excuse to go by her desk. At this point I KNOW Elissa is absolute TOAST and let’s be honest I was too- Elissa and I would show up at Erins’ desk not knowing the other would be there.

It really was instant love, Erin felt familial, like a cousin to me, but I could see that Elissa was about to be head over heels.Erin seems more than ready to engage and entertain in Elissa rare mating rituals. Their first date was ignoring multiple movies while they talked and laughed and got to know one another. Elissa showed Erin her eclectic collection of things and to Elissa’s relief, Erin loved it but suggested they could be displayed with more care. Their second date was Erin’s Birthday where she was dressed as a Dalmatian? A cow? And they declared MONOGAMY on the dance floor. They’ve been laughing and loving and collecting weird things ever since. Together they have thrown many parties, traveled to many places, and have navigated some of the toughest event’s life can throw at you. This only has deepened and strengthened their bond.

We got engaged on our anniversary on October 11, 2024 in New York City. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you!
